Bedford Hills and Pound Ridge are our closest neighbors. Our Bedford workshop sits within minutes of both — Bedford Hills is a two-mile drive south, Pound Ridge a five-mile drive east. For eighty years we've functioned as the de facto florist for both communities, handling weekly estate arrangements, weddings at private properties and local venues, sympathy deliveries to neighbors who've known the Alvarez family through three generations, and the everyday orders that accumulate when a florist is embedded in a place. Bedford Hills vs. Pound Ridge — Two Different Rhythms
Though adjacent geographically, the two communities have different characters that shape how our work shows up in each.
Bedford Hills is a hamlet within the Town of Bedford, sharing the town government with Katonah and Bedford village. It has a dense residential core around the Metro-North station, historic village architecture, and a mix of year-round commuter households and second-home families. Florist orders here skew toward weekly home arrangements, sympathy (the community is tight-knit), and everyday occasions.
Pound Ridge is its own town — smaller in population than Bedford but larger in acreage, with the character of rural Westchester: stone walls, horse properties, large-acreage estates, and a civic rhythm organized around the town center and the historic fire district. The Town of Pound Ridge has a different feel from Bedford Hills — quieter, more private, with a heavier weighting toward estate-scale floral work, tented weddings on private grounds, and the kind of standing-order arrangements that fit households with dedicated staff.

How Delivery Works
Both communities are within our daily delivery radius — Bedford Hills is essentially the same delivery timing as our Bedford home base, and Pound Ridge is a short eastbound drive.

Pricing isn't published. Estate weekly orders are scoped during consultation and billed monthly. One-off orders are quoted per arrangement. Sympathy orders are often scoped by phone because the specifics (the family's wishes, the funeral home's delivery protocol, the desired scale) change per case.
Pound Ridge Weddings — Estate-Scale Floral Design
Pound Ridge is one of the parts of Westchester where at-home weddings on private property are common — the zoning, the acreage, and the landscape character make estate weddings viable in a way they aren't in denser towns. Our floral work for these weddings differs from venue-based wedding florals in a few specific ways.
We coordinate with the property rather than against it. A mature landscape — perennial borders, specimen trees, stone walls, existing hardscape — sets the palette and scale before the floral design starts. Arrangements that ignore the property read as out of place. We do site walks before locking the design.
The installation window is typically wider. Private-property weddings don't have the back-to-back event pressure of commercial venues. We arrive earlier, stay longer, and respond to conditions (wind, rain, light changes) without a property manager breathing down our necks.
Grounds staff coordination matters. Estates with dedicated grounds staff have opinions about which lawns tolerate vehicle weight, where water lines run, and which areas can be temporarily altered. We defer to them on logistics and keep the floral design within the constraints they set.
Tent integration. Pound Ridge estates often host tented receptions. Sperry pole tents, clear-top tents, and frame tents each offer different structural points for suspended installations, and we match the design to the tent type, not the other way around.

Seasonal Sourcing for Bedford Hills and Pound Ridge
Both communities sit in the same regional climate and draw from the same seasonal supply chain as our other Westchester deliveries. Spring (April–May): Tulips, ranunculus, hyacinths, lilacs, early peonies.

What We Don't Do
We don't stock year-round tropical imports. If a Bedford Hills household wants anthuriums in December, we can source them with enough notice, but the default position is to use what's at its peak that week.
We don't fulfill through Teleflora or FTD. Orders placed through those networks bypass our workshop entirely — the arrangement gets built by whichever retailer is nearest the recipient, to a stock photograph.
We don't publish fixed pricing. Estate weekly orders, one-off arrangements, and wedding proposals all scale differently, and published pricing would misrepresent what each actually costs.

We'll talk through what you're thinking, the rooms or contexts the flowers go in, color preferences, and delivery day. From there we can either schedule a site visit (for larger or more complex scopes) or lock the scope over the phone.
