What Our Customers Say

Real reviews from real people

"We chose Perennial Gardens after meeting with three other florists, and I'm so glad we did. They took time to understand our venue and didn't push flowers that weren't in season for our October date. The dahlias and fall foliage were absolutely stunning, and everything looked fresh from ceremony through the end of our reception. Our photos are beautiful, and several guests asked who did our flowers—that says it all."

"Working with Perennial Gardens felt refreshingly honest. When I asked about peonies for my September wedding, they explained why that wouldn't work instead of just saying yes and charging me for imported flowers that would wilt. The seasonal alternatives they suggested were more beautiful than what I'd originally imagined, and my bouquet held up perfectly through a hot day. Their team installed everything the morning of our wedding and it looked flawless."

"Our June wedding at a barn venue in Katonah required a florist who understood rustic elegance, and Perennial Gardens delivered exactly that. The ceremony installation was scaled perfectly to the space—not overdone, just right. They coordinated with our planner seamlessly and were incredibly professional throughout. Six months later, I still get compliments on how beautiful our flowers were."

"We've used Perennial Gardens for our annual client appreciation event three years running. They handle everything professionally—from proposal to installation to breakdown—and their seasonal arrangements always reflect well on our firm. The team understands corporate requirements and delivers consistently. We recently added weekly office flowers based on how reliable they've been for our events."

"Perennial Gardens designed the florals for my mother's 75th birthday celebration at our home in Bedford. The consultation process was thorough—they visited our house, asked about Mom's favorite colors and style, and suggested arrangements that complemented our existing décor. Everything arrived on time, the installation was discreet and efficient, and the flowers lasted well beyond the party. My mother was absolutely delighted."

Our Approach to Wedding Florals

Seasonal Availability Guides Selection

Your wedding date determines available materials. June weddings access different flowers than October weddings. We design with this reality rather than against it.

Out-of-season requests—like peonies in September or dahlias in April—aren't fulfilled through expensive imports. Instead, we redirect toward seasonal alternatives that perform better, photograph better, and cost less.

This isn't a limitation. It's an advantage. Seasonal materials at their peak outperform forced alternatives in appearance, longevity, and fragrance.

Wedding Floral Design Questions

Minimum six months for any wedding date. Twelve to eighteen months preferred for peak season weddings (May through October). Spring and fall dates book earliest due to ideal weather and seasonal material availability. Winter and early spring weddings (November through April) can accommodate shorter booking windows—sometimes 3-4 months—though advance booking still recommended. We accept one major wedding per weekend, so popular dates fill early regardless of season.

Yes, with seasonal reality acknowledged. Your wedding date determines what's actually available. June weddings can feature peonies and garden roses. October weddings access dahlias and fall foliage. Requesting peonies for an October wedding isn't possible—they don't exist then, regardless of budget. We redirect toward seasonal alternatives that perform better, cost less, and photograph beautifully. Our consultation discusses seasonal options for your specific date. This approach protects you from disappointing flowers that wilt quickly or arrive damaged from forced growing conditions.

Every wedding proposal is custom based on your venue, guest count, and requirements. Typical full-service weddings include: ceremony florals (altar/chuppah, aisle markers, entrance), reception florals (centerpieces scaled to guest count, bar arrangements, cake table, escort display), and personal florals (bridal bouquet, bridesmaids, boutonnieres, corsages). Additional options: cocktail hour arrangements, restroom florals, welcome table, gift table, band/DJ area. Proposals itemize each element with material options and investment breakdown. You select components that fit your priorities and budget.

Wedding floral design typically ranges $5,000 to $25,000+ depending on guest count, venue requirements, seasonal selections, and service scope. Intimate weddings (under 50 guests, ceremony and small reception) start around $5,000. Medium weddings (75-125 guests, full ceremony and reception) typically range $10,000-$18,000. Larger weddings (150+ guests, multiple ceremony and reception installations) range $18,000-$25,000+. Custom proposals provided after initial consultation clarifies your specific requirements.

Yes. We coordinate with wedding planners regularly and appreciate their organizational expertise. Planners help manage timeline, vendor coordination, day-of logistics. We handle all floral design, material sourcing, proposal creation, and installation directly with you and communicate progress with your planner. Three-way communication (couple, planner, florist) ensures everyone stays aligned throughout planning process.

No. We focus exclusively on floral design and installation. Our expertise is plant material, composition, seasonal selection—not rentals, lighting, or hard goods. We coordinate with rental companies and collaborate on overall design vision, but don't provide tables, chairs, linens, lighting, structures, or non-floral décor. This focus allows us to maintain quality standards in our specialty area. We can recommend trusted rental vendors if needed.

20% non-refundable deposit due at contract signing to secure your wedding date. This deposit reserves our limited capacity and begins design process. Remaining balance (80%) due 30 days before wedding date. Final payment deadline allows us to order materials, confirm availability, finalize installation logistics. Cancellations: deposits are non-refundable as date has been held exclusively for you. Cancellations 90+ days before wedding receive 50% refund of payments beyond deposit. Cancellations within 90 days forfeit all payments as materials have been committed.

Floral design doesn't translate to "tastings" like catering. Instead, we provide: detailed written proposals with specific material options, reference images showing similar work, seasonal availability guidance, and clear material descriptions. Most couples trust our expertise based on portfolio, consultation discussion, and proposal details. For couples wanting additional visual confirmation, we can provide reference images showing proposed materials in similar applications. Physical mock-ups aren't provided as flowers are perishable and seasonal availability changes between preview and wedding date.

Yes. Our primary service area includes all of Westchester County and Fairfield County. We regularly service weddings in New York City and throughout the tri-state region. Travel considerations: venues beyond 45 minutes from Bedford may include delivery fees to cover team travel time and logistics. Destination weddings (beyond tri-state area) considered selectively based on scope, timeline, season. Contact us with your venue location—we'll confirm whether we can service your date and location.

Our three-generation garden center operation and established grower relationships minimize risk. We order materials with buffer quantities, maintain backup options, and source from multiple suppliers. That said, nature occasionally presents challenges—weather delays shipments, crops fail, availability shifts. When this happens, we substitute comparable seasonal alternatives at same or higher quality, same color palette, same design approach. We never compromise design integrity or install substandard materials. If you've specified absolute must-have materials, we discuss backup plans during design finalization months before your wedding.

Our installation team handles complete setup for all contracted floral elements. This includes ceremony installation (timing coordinated with ceremony start), reception setup (completed before guest arrival), and personal floral delivery (delivered to getting-ready locations morning of wedding). We don't provide "day-of coordination" in wedding planner sense—timeline management, vendor coordination, guest management. Our scope is floral installation, placement, and quality confirmation. We coordinate closely with your venue, planner, and other vendors to ensure smooth installation timing.
